4 Wheelin'

I started 4 wheeling in spring of 2003.  I have a Polaris 500 HO 4x4.  I usually go with a group of guys ranging from 3 of us up to 14.  We have been riding in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.  So far the favorite place has been Wayne National Forest located near Nelsonville Ohio.  And now a little trivia for you.  Nelsonville was the birth place of "Sex in the City" actress Sarah Jessica Parker.    Hmm...  I never seen her on a 4 wheeler there.

Here is a video I found on YouTube that looks like just about what we ride thru.

Slot Car Racin'

I've been racing HO scaled slot cars since 1996.  Click below to visit my other website that I created just for my slot car hobby.

Amateur Radio

An awesome video I found on YouTube talking about the contributions of HAM radio operator's as told by Walter Cronkite also a HAM operator with the call of KB2GSD

When I was 15 years old and in Boy Scouts I tried to learn Morse Code by myself.  I learned quit a bit of the letters, but never felt comfortable to take the test.

My father became a HAM operator on March 5, 2004.  He has a General class license with a call sign of W8DAG previously he was (KC8TMN).  After seeing and hearing him talk about all the fun he was having with it, I got bit by the bug sort a speak.

I studied for 2 weeks an then on June 27, 2006 I passed the Technician license requirements to be a HAM operator.  My call sign is KD8DXE.  The recent changes by the FCC eliminated the need to know 5 words per minute of Morse Code to earn the next level license known as General.  I plan on taking this test soon so I can operate on the HF frequencies.

I owe a lot to him for helping me along the way and letting me use his older equipment.  There is a lot to learn in this hobby, but as with other hobbies, there are people willing to teach you and help you along the way.

I'm a member of the following:
